Children and, more frequently young adults, develop late complications. Sudden cardiac death life-threatening ventricular arrhythmia remain a concern tetralogy Fallot. The aim this study was to describe analyse advanced follow-up find non-invasive predictors adverse prognosis. Methods This retrospective cohort study. Consecutive 200 who did not undergo pulmonary valve replacement were included. Mean age all 19 ± 8. electrocardiographic (ECG), cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), magnetic resonance (CMR) data reviewed retrospectively. Right myocardial work index (RWI) calculated as area right pressure strain loops. From RWI, Constructive Work (RCW), Wasted (RWW) Efficiency (RWE) estimated. Patients screened according at surgery (<12 months >12 months) time since (< 25 years ≥ years). A composite end-point major cardiovascular events (sudden death, sustained non-sustained tachycardia, resuscitated sudden or syncope) used. Results CPET values significantly different than corrective surgery. Left ejection fraction measured either by echocardiography slightly but reduced older (>12 have V02max CPET, larger RA LA areas RV basal diameter. During median 2.9 years, 1 patient died suddenly, 5 had documented other 4 syncope. On univariate analysis, left atrial area/BSA (P=0.044) longitudinal (P=0.010) related combined end point. reported VT Holter ECG presented function terms CMR-EF, FAC RWI. Finally, TOF borderline/impaired predicted VO2 max freewall index. Conclusion Long-term survival clinical condition after surgical correction infancy generally good functional status - operated could be excellent up repair. However, relative compared those undergoing early evaluation are usually worse prognosis, recurrency TOF. feasible TOF; disadvantageous may sensitive indicator impairment standard parameters, able predict capacity.

Background: Total repair of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) during young infancy had been recently advocated, but recent outcomes leave this question undecided. Methods: Between 1992 and 2002, 259 consecutive TOF patients received total repair in our hospital. To avoid confounding by previous shunt operations, we excluded those patients receiving staged shunt operation in the following analysis. Ther...
متن کاملLong term follow up of patients with repaired aortic coarctations.
A ortic coarctation was one of the first types of congenital heart diseases to be treated successfully with surgery. Despite initial optimism, surgical relief of aortic narrowing does not cure the underlying vascular problem. Patients with previously repaired coarctation have a significantly reduced life expectancy and continue to be at risk of major complications throughout life including hype...

Abstract Background: Endometriosis is a common disease which is characterized by the development of the endometrial tissue outside the uterus. The most common location of endometriosis is the ovary, occurring in 17-44% of affected patients . It is a chronic disease mostly affecting women at reproductive age. Therefore, it is important to predict and protect the patients’ ovarian function. The...

Background and Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze our indications, surgical procedures, and clinical outcomes of patients undergoing reoperation after surgical correction of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). Methods: Thirty seven consecutive patients who underwent reoperation late after intra-cardiac repair of TOF within a period of 10 years were assessed. Results: The most co...
